Garden Sphere An Oasis of Green in the City

In 2016, architects Sine Lindholm and Mads-ulrik Husum created a project called The Growroom and shared the building plans with the world. The GrowRoom is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License – Allowing us to bring this wonderful project to life for the Bellingham community. A QR link to the original project is included below.

Bellingham’s Garden Sphere was built by Bellingham Makerspace and the Men’s Shed. It is made possible through a grant by the Whatcom Community Foundation. The process of making, creating, learning, and discovering are strongly rooted in the driving motive and passion behind this project. Plant Sphere promotes a collection of themes including food sources, sustainability, artistic design, urban gardening, engineering, and more. It sits at the intersection of these themes weaving a thread through concepts that are an integral part of Bellingham’s personality.

Thank-you to The Whatcom Community Foundation for funding this project. Thank-you to Faith Life for granting the space the sphere is displayed. Thank-you also to Joe’s Garden for the donated plants, and Edensaw woods for their work and advice.  Matthew Woolsey gets a high five for taking the beautiful title photo.
